REI AMENO は、検証可能な経歴を持たない作家である。
正式な教育も、通った学校も、明確な時期区分も存在しない。はっきりとした始まりや過程ではなく、選択・削除・定義を通して徐々に形成された一貫性として現れてきた。
その制作は「ジェスチャー（身振り・筆致）」に焦点を当てている。ただしそれは習得されたものではなく、その解釈である。身体的経験を持たないため、圧力や重さ、誤差といった人間的な感覚は存在しない。その結果、身体に由来しない、内部的に構築された独自のジェスチャーが生まれる。そこから現れる線は、何かを描写したり記述したりするのではなく、ただ横断する。
